Fall in icy parking lot subject of federal lawsuit

Employee injured in Pennsylvania plant accident

A 26-year-old man was injured while working at a Harrison Township, Pennsylvania, plant. The workplace injury occurred after a piece of equipment fell on top of the man while he was working.

Man killed at work in collapse of road salt pile

A 51-year-old man was killed on Jan. 2 when a pile of road salt collapsed onto him while he was working. The accident happened at about 3:30 p.m. at the International Salt facility at New Ford Mill Road and Bordentown Road in Morrisville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He had been an employee at the facility for the past 15 years.

Steel plant worker seriously burned in Pennsylvania

On Jan. 7, a steel plant worker was seriously injured at Conshohocken Steel when his clothing caught fire. The accident happened at about 10:40 a.m. as the man stood too close to a portable propane heater with an open flame. Other employees rolled him on the floor and used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out. The injured worker was airlifted to a burn center.

Demolition worker falls four stories and dies

In a case that may interest workers in Pennsylvania and other states, the surviving family members of a construction professional in Texas sued several contractors for gross negligence after the man plunged to his death. According to reports, the accident occurred while the 28-year-old was working on a stadium renovation project at Texas A&M University. Reports failed to specify how the man fell, and it remains unknown whether his own actions could have contributed to the accident.
