BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

     Attorney Jeff Majikas has been affiliated with the law firm of Laputka, Bayless, Ecker & Cohn, P.C. since 1991, when he served as a summer law clerk.  He joined LBE&C as an Associate Attorney upon admission to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1992. 

     Attorney Majikas practice is limited almost exclusively  to Workers Compensation and Social Security Disability claims. He has aggressively represented injured and disabled adults and children since 1992, including litigation before State and Federal agencies, the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals.

    Attorney Majikas was born in Berwick, Pennsylvania on January 8, 1963.  He graduated from Central Columbia [County] High School in 1981, and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Arts and Sciences from Michigan State University, with honor,  in 1985.  Upon graduation, he returned to Pennsylvania and held the position of Account Representative for the Bloomsburg-Berwick Press-Enterprise, a daily newspaper, for four years. 

    In 1989, he entered law school at the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore. While in law school, he served as an Assistant Editor for the Maryland Law Review and gained clinical experience working on lead paint poisoning cases on behalf of inner-city children. He also served a Fellowship for the Hon. Theodore G. Bloom of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals in Annapolis.  He was awarded the degree of Juris Doctor, with honor, in May of 1992. 

    Attorney Majikas was admitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court 1992 and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit in 1993.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Wilkes-Barre Law Library Association. 

    He resides in Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania with his wife, Kathleen and their son, Brandon.
