Northeastern Pennsylvania Attorneys

The law firm of Laputka, Bayless, Ecker & Cohn, PC, was founded by four partners in 1953 as a general practice firm. Today there are five active attorneys, including a son of one of the original partners. We are still a general practice firm, serving individuals, businesses and financial institutions in Hazleton and northeastern Pennsylvania.

Our attorneys each practice in different areas of the law, which enables us to meet many needs while still delivering high-quality legal counsel. Our lawyers consult with each other and take a team approach in appropriate cases, providing further value to our clients.

Bart Ecker, whose father was a founding member, has practiced since 1969 and concentrates primarily in workers' compensation. Bruce Miller has been with the firm since 1968, focusing chiefly on criminal law. Robert Sensky has been with the firm since 1992, practicing in business and real estate, employment law, and estate law. Jeffrey Majikas has practiced since 1992, mainly in Social Security Disability and injury law. John Gallagher has practiced law since 1990. He is our chief litigator, with wide experience in personal injury, commercial litigation, divorce and other civil litigation.

Our lawyers bring decades of legal experience and unique qualifications. They are active in professional associations and community organizations. Read more about the background and credentials of our team:
